Who is John Flynn?
John started out marketing twenty years ago as a broke youth minister and then a touring musician. He couldn’t afford to hire anyone so it was “learn it yourself or nothing,” In 2006 he came off the road and went into marketing full-time. He got involved in custom Word Press sites early on and was one of the pioneers of creating in depth custom graphics for themes. After a stint with Brian Gardner and the fabled Revolution themes (now Studio Press), John decided to branch out on his own as a custom designer. Kickstart Media exploded and we’ve built hundreds and hundreds of sites over the years.
Along the way John helped his web clients with other things as well and started to branch out into branding, strategy, graphic design and more. He also spent several years as the Director of Marketing with one of his early web clients, Presco. In that capacity John ran the Marketing efforts for the company and worked closely with the marketing directors for Grainger, White Cap, Home Depot, Lowes, John Deere and Fastenal.
John has taught many seminars and courses all over the country on marketing, social media, strategy and sales. He is a Franklin-Covey 4 Disciplines of Execution business coach and loves to help businesses become more effficient.
Now that John’s oldest son Jamison has completed his studies and joined Kickstart Media. John has returned full-time to that venture to work with his son!
