Far From Moscow

What do get when you cross a creative professor, some Russian punk bands and students who love music?

Well, once upon a time, Far from Moscow….Professor Dave from UCLA’s Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures came up with a great idea for his students:  Create a website that they would manage that would focus on emerging Russian Music.  This would help them learn about Russian culture and also satiate their desires of music and tecnology.  Man, I wish I had creative teachers like that in school

The Life Classroom

These guys are all about content..and I mean content. They have dozens of writers and over 2,000 articles on their site already! They wanted a kicking Word Press design to go along with all that delicious posting madness. We rocked it, they loved it, go check it out… you’ll learn something about everything there- after all it’s The Life Classroom.

Newark Black Business Alliance

The Newark Black Business Alliance needed a flashy new website showcasing the growing entrepreneurship of Newark, NJ. We incorporated a new phpBB3 forum into the design and customized it to match the site so the members could dialogue and support one another also.

It was a joy making some new friends in Newark…

Isidore Bard

Isidore Bard is a young songwriter out of Iowa who after travelling the world was inspired to write catchy, lyrically deep songs of his travels.  His name album Roadsongs and Parables, released by Mediatrix Records, rocks!

In addition, Isidore is now studying for the priesthood.  We wish him the best and were honored to do his website.

The Pines Catholic Camp

The Pines is a Catholic Youth Camp in East Texas that’s been around for years. Unfortunately so had their website… It was definitely in need of a face lift and when Erin called us we got right to work. We integrated a full scale Content Management System in, redesigned the entire site and then trained them on how to upload new content, pictures, videos, etc to keep everything fresh and hip.

Tom Lelyo

When we first met Tom we constantly forgot how to spell his last name. So.. when we designed his site we made sure to make it really, really big so no one else would make that mistake.

Even if you forget how to spell his last name, you for sure won’t forget Tom. He’s a great guy and we loved working with him!

St. Francis Mission Trip

St. Francis of Assisi Parish takes Mission Trips to Mexico each year and wanted their students to be able to blog and share pictures from the trip with the rest of the Church. We set them up with a hip blog and they certainly used it!

RJ Miller Management

Joe Miller heads up RJMiller Consulting and is probably one of the smartest guys we’ve met ever.  He runs a marketing and media consultation group that works extensively with international and nationally held hi-tech companies.  He always finds time for a good conversation though and he makes a great bottle of wine

Revolution Theme

The infamous Brian Gardner, creator of the Revolution (now “ Studio Press“) themes for Word Press, asked us to create a design for the theme that was a little bit “grungy and dirty.”  We think we obliged him pretty well and it’s had some good reviews.

We love Word Press and Revolution so this was an honor to work with Brian on this project.

Rebecca Barnett

We designed this site for singer/songwriter Rebecca Barnett. She is hitting the road hard trying to build her career up. She needed something easy to maintain and yet still fresh looking. We used the “scrapbook” style to show lots of her pictures, (Hey, if you’re pretty why not have lots of pictures right?) and overlaid it with a “grunge” style page that repeated dynamically.

The Plasma Doctor

If we had time to watch TV we would probably get a plasma tv.  And if you get a web designer a plasma tv, he’s going to want some plasma burn to go along with that.  And if he gets plasma burn on his new plasma tv then he’s going to want to get that fixed and then he’s going to have to call The Plasma Doctor.  Whew! Good thing we did his website…

Nick Alexander

We’ve known Nick for years and sincerely believe him to be one of the funniest human beings on the planet.  In addition to being a comic, Nick is also a musician and a speaker and this part of him has sometimes been overshadowed by his “funny side.”

The challenge with this site was to be serious and professional and show that side of Nick, but also not lose his great sense of humour.  We chose to do it with a standard business style design but then used some humorous pictures on the right side.  Each page changes to a new picture and overall the site shows a good mixture of who Nick is.

Miller Sisters Cafe

Once upon a time there were three sisters.  These sisters cared very deeply for the world and life around them and wanted very much to share their thoughts and opinions with the world.  Like all good girls, they asked their Dad’s advice and he sent them to us (we built his website too…)

We had a ball working with Marie, Carol Lynn and Theresa and they were so excited that they had half of their content written and up before we were finished with the design.  They’ve got some great stuff on all sorts of issues so grab a cup o’ joe and head over to The Miller Sister’s Cafe.

Kristie Gulock

Kristie is about to release her first album and needed a website to market her ministry.  She is a busy homeschooling Mom on the side so this had to be a site that was easy to manage and update and wouldn’t become a burden to her.  She also has great taste however and wanted a cool design.  With our built in CMS Kristie is able to have both a great design and still update and manage all of her content herself.

Check out what we ended up with for Kristie and while you’re there check out her ministry.

Jenny Klement

We first heard Jenny Klement sing years ago and she’s only gotten better with time.  She just released her new album and needed a new site to go along with it.  We were honored to be part of her project.

If you have ears on your head and a heart in your chest you should go hear Jenny sing.  It’s like angels came down from heaven…

Innerflame Apparrel

Brad from Innerflame Apparrel wanted a kicked up, high energy sports theme for his online site and store. We worked with him to design branding, logo and site and used Big Cartel for a custom storefront and then built the main site with all sorts of user features so youth for teams across the country could establish pages, log in and update scores and so forth.

FOCUS National Conference

FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students) asked us to help them “brand” their National Conference. We launched a kickin’ website and then created the conference branding to match including stage dressings, banners, signage and lighting effects.

The conference was awesome, with over 5,000 college aged young people in attendance. Check out the awesome ministry of FOCUS sometime.

Brother and sister, Brandon and Meredith Shields run this funky coffeebar in Sherman, TX and they needed a great, easily managed website to show off their menu, rental facilties and live entertainment schedule.  We took their existing branding structure and put it into a business friendly, yet funky design which could appeal to commuters in Sherman as well as young people attending the local colleges.

As they say down at The Boiler Room, “Friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks.”
